Italian Serie A FT Report: Chievo vs. Juventus – Juventus lose early lead after red card (Part 2)
The second half kicked off in pretty much the same fashion. Juventus were on top of things for the most and Chievo were finding it hard to retain any possession at all.
The first chance of the second half fell to the goal scorer, Quagliarella once again, but this time around his header was tipped over the bar the by Chievo’s keeper.
However a minute later everything seemed to change as Giandonato was shown a red card. The midfielder was the last man back for Juventus and went on to hack down Constant. The referee had very little or no choice at all in the call and ended up showing the
player the red.
Chievo started to use this one man advantage however they were desperately short in their attempts to score goals. They certainly lacked a good midfielder in their ranks.
Despite being a man down, Juventus were still looking to threaten the home side, as they created numerous chances. The best one coming in the seventy fifth minute, when Krasic managed to hit the bar with a brilliant effort.
However the fact that the shot didn't end up in the back of the net meant that the home side were still in the game.
With the match in extra time and the home side putting pressure on Juventus, everyone around could just feel like something was about to happen. On the ninety second minute, the ball fell to Pellissier in the Juventus box and the player didn't even think
twice before slipping the ball in from twelve yards out. As a result the home side went on to score the very late dramatic equaliser and the points were now going to be shared between the two sides.
Juventus, who were looking to ride out the match on top, after having dominated throughout, fell short in the last second when it really counted. However the visiting team wouldn't have been all that disappointed as they managed to take home something from
the match.
