Italian Serie A – Inter Milan vs. Parma: Stankovic’s hat-trick helps as Parma to bed (Part 2)
The second half kicked off, with just as much electricity and intensity as the first, however there were no goals scored in it till the seventieth minute. On the seventieth minute Inter got the two goal lead once again. Sneijder whipped
in a brilliant free kick once again and Pandev received the ball before setting up Motta and the player who made his return from injury was on the score sheet for the team. The goal became the fifth that Motta had scored for the team and what a night to score
it on.
Four minutes later Stankovic scored his hat-trick and put a rest to the match once and for all. Sneijder was once again the architect as he cut in from the left before feeding Stankovic who took the fact that he was left unmarked on the
edge the box to his advantage. The player took a touch and then went on to find the bottom corner of the net and as the ball rolled into the goal, the game was well over.
Both the teams went on to create a number of chances after the fifth Inter goal, however neither one of the sides managed to find the back of the net and as a result Inter strolled from a tricky game as the deserved victors.
In the end victorious Inter Milan are now sitting pretty in the fifth spot in the Italian Serie A tables and the only way for the team to go now, was up.
Stankovic was awarded the man of the match trophy for his three goals on the night and had it not been for him finding his luck and form on the night, then Inter could have been in a cauldron of boiling water. However that did not end
up being the case as Inter took a firm step forward to retaining their Italian Serie A title and Benitez to securing his job at the team.
Had Inter not managed to win on the night, then the following weeks could have proved to be rather difficult for Inter and Benitez. The team who have already lost their influence in the Champions League despite being the reigning champions,
would have been forced to deal with the same fate in the league.
Along with that the team seems to have performed brilliantly without Samuel Eto'o, who still has another two games to sit out due to his head butt incident last week. If the team keeps performing the same way as it did tonight, then it
is safe to say that Eto'o will have to fight for his spot back in the starting eleven when his suspension does come to an end.
