Italian Serie A Team Of The Season - First Half
The Italian league is now taking a mid-season break after having a first half that went on at a pretty frantic pace.
Even after losing at home to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Roma-c31603 this Saturday, A.C. Milan are still leading the Serie A standings and are followed closely by Lazio, Juventus and Napoli.
Let’s see which players have made it to the Serie A team of the season:
Goalkeeper
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Christian-Abbiati-c9046 (Milan)
The 33-year-old Italian has been in great form this season. So far, Milan have conceded just 13 goals in 17 games this season and are boasting the best defensive record in Serie A. Abbiati is the main reason behind this with his acrobatic saves and he has
pulled off some incredible saves this season. He has even worked on his weakness when it comes to dealing with crosses and seems to be in great shape.
Defenders
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Nesta-c4735 (Milan)
The Italian is about to turn 35 in a few months but there’s no denying that Nesta is a class act and has went on to form a good partnership with Thiago Silva. The former http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Lazio-c39775 man is a wall and has even managed to stay fit after an injury hit last campaign
and has featured in all but two Serie A games. Nesta has once again proved that while form is temporary, class is immortal.

The Brazilian is arguably the best defender in Europe and perhaps also the world right now and has formed one of the best centre back partnerships with the legendary Nesta. He is a strong player, good in the air, a great tackler and unlike most defensive
players in the game today, a great reader of the game. Silva, along with Nesta is an irreplaceable duo for Milan right now.

The Italian enforcer is like a rock in the defense for the Old Lady and seemingly, has rediscovered his form and a winning mentality. His fearless tackles, headers and a never-give-up attitude on the field serve as an example and inspiration to the team
mates around him.
Midfielders
Milos Krasic (Juventus)
The summer signing from CSKA Moscow has lit up the Serie A and is definitely the most explosive and exciting player in the league right now. The 26-year old Serbian is the main man for Del Neri’s Juventus side that is on the road to recovery and is the vital
part of the “Old Lady Revival”. He has already scored 5 times in the league along with a lot of assists.
Marek Hamsik (Napoli)
The Slovakian is a 12 or 15 goal guarantee every season and is indispensable for Napoli. He has already found the net 7 times in the league so far, a pretty decent amount for a midfielder. Partenopei are only 3 points shy of the top of the table and Hamsik
is the reason behind this.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Felipe-Melo-c13535 (Juventus)
The Brazilian had a disastrous start to life with Juventus last season after he made a big money switch from Fiorentina but this season has seen him emerge as a true revelation. The Beast has made the centre of the park literally his own territory and has
even scored a goal during his ‘total annihilation’ reign in the centre. His performance in Juventus’ 1-0 win at the San Siro against Milan shows just how far the Brazilian has come.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Hernanes-c16150 (Lazio)
The Brazilian is the best summer signing so far in Italy after he arrived from Sao Paulo, the Brazilian giants and is the talisman and almost everything for the Lazio side that is ‘smelling’ Serie A triumph this season. 5 goals in 16 games including assists,
skills, tricks and numerous great free-kicks show how well the Brazilian has settled in Rome.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Javier-Pastore-c18082 (Palermo)
The 21-year old Argentine is the most sought-after player in the Serie A and Europe. He is like no other player in football with his elegant and languid style. He is a true genius on the pitch with his dribbling, passing and nutmegs. He has notched 7 goals.
Forwards

Coming on loan from Barcelona, the Swede is in top form and has already scored 9 times in 16 games. The promising player is leading from the front and is spearheading the Milan strike that aims to win the Scudetto after an 8-year wait.

Yes! It was hard to leave out Samuel Eto’o but this summer, Cavani has been too good for Napoli and with 10 goals already, ‘Capocannoniere’ might be up for grabs. His ability to score decisive goals is another reason why he’s so highly thought-off at Napoli.
