Italian Serie A player ratings: Cagliari Calcio 0 – 1 AC Milan (Part 1)
Serie A leaders AC Milan travelled to Cagliari in what was the first game of the New Year for both the teams. Rossoneri were missing a host of star players but all eyes were on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Antonio-Cassano-c6302, the new arrival from Sampdoria.
AC Milan dominated the proceedings but failed to open the scoring. That was until Cassano was introduced. Il Talentino set up Rodney Strasser in the 85th minute to win the points for the visitors.

http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michael-Agazzi-c25264 – 7
It was an assured display from the 26-year old custodian who hardly put a glove wrong. Agazzi stood tall for most of the game and made a sublime save on http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alexandre-Pato-c4901 in the second half. Furthermore, the Italian had no chance with Strasser’s winner.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Francesco-Pisano-c13931 – 5
It wasn’t a vintage performance by any means. Where Pisano was defensively suspect for most of the game, his attacking contribution was also lacking.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Michele-Canini-c25487 – 6.5
Canini kept Ibrahimovic-less Rossoneri attack at bay for much of the game. The defender was also unlucky with a first half header that rattled Abbiati’s goal post.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Davide-Astori-c10639 – 7
The player is co-owned by AC Milan and media reports indicate Rossoneri are keen on bringing back the defender. Based on this performance, Milan would do well to sign him at the earliest. The classy centre back had an impressive outing against his childhood
team. A fantastic goal line clearance was the highlight of the show.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Agostini-c4713 – 7
Agostini won his individual battle with Pato hands down while also making inroads on offensive front. However, the defender criminally played Strasser onside for the winner.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Cossu-c5679 – 5.5
The midfielder was given the playmaking role but failed to conjure any real moments of genius – a disappointing outing for the Italy international.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Daniele-Conti-c10111 – 5.5
It was a performance with a lot of steel but little silk to complement it. Conti ran his socks off but he lacked in quality to match the opposition.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Andrea-Lazzari-c5687 – 5
AC Milan have been linked with the midfielder but he failed to give a good account of himself on the occasion. Allegri has admitted interest in the player, but he would be rethinking his decision now.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Radja-Nainggolan-c30301 – 7
The Belgian was one of the best Rossoblu players on the night. Passes, tricks, runs and bundles of energy, Radja gave his all to the team’s cause. However, his efforts were in vain as his teammates let him down.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Alessandro-Matri-c4733 – 5
The talented forward tried his best but was second best to http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Thiago-Silva-c34903 more often than not. It was a frustrating night to say the least.
Nene – 5
The Brazilian was offered a golden chance on the plate, when Abbiati passed the ball straight to him. Needless to say, the Brazilian missed it. Nene will have nightmares about his glaring miss tonight.
Substitutes:
David Biondini - 6
Biondini was brought on to replace an ineffective Lazzari. The Italian was a marked improvement as he bustled around with energy.
http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Robert-c31222 Acquafresca – 5.5
Acquafresca was given one minute by Donadoni to impress – well, he obviously couldn’t.
