The Pescara chief has stated that he is disappointed by the offers made by the out-of-money Serie A clubs, and believes that the midfielder is likely to end up with a foreign outfit in the future.
Daniele Sebastiani has revealed that the real reason why he chose against selling Marco Verratti to an Italian outfit is because he was not offered a worthwhile sum of money to entice a deal.
The highly-rated midfielder was central to Pescara’s triumphant campaign in Serie B that saw them rise to the top under the leadership of Zdenek Zeman, and qualify for the next season of Serie A.
The Delfini playmaker was linked with a strong transfer interest from Juventus and http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Napoli-c40003, but the owner club ended up taking the youngster off the transfer market.
Sebastiani stated that the Italian outfit are losing their economic prowess, and stated that the lack of credible finance in the offers was the real reason he chose against parting company with Verratti.
The Dolphins President revealed that both the giants that approached him with the transfer interest were keen on player exchanges, and failed to bid a worthwhile amount of money to make the offer lucrative.
The Delfini executive was adamant that amidst the lack of money in Serie A, it seems imminent that the Pescara youngster will be sold to a hefty offer from abroad.
While talking to the press, the Dolphins Chairman said:
“In this market they [Serie A clubs] are not running with a lot of money. So far, all we have had proposed for Verratti has been player exchanges. The only plausible hypothesis would be a good offer from abroad.”
Daniele Sebastiani went on to stress that this is the end of the transfer talk surrounding Verratti, and insisted that the player will now focus on taking on the big guns from Serie A in the upcoming season.
The Dolphins President assured that the young midfielder is delighted to prolong his stay with Pescara, and expressed his hope that the outfit will be able to claim twice the money for the playmaker after the next season.
