The former Lecce head coach has gone on to state that the level of football in Italy had dropped due to the constraints that have hindered the clubs in Italy.
Many clubs have conceded that they are not able to financially outmuscle their European opponents and furthermore, there have been allegations put up against the Italian outfits for becoming feeder clubs to the more cash-rich clubs of Europe.
The evidence of this can be seen by the fact that Paris Saint-Germain made some swoops in this transfer window and besides the sale of http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Ezequiel-Lavezzi-c13073, which the Neapolitan outfit were willing to do, others had their hands tied. PSG made a joint bid for

Silvio Berlusconi went on to state that the deal would save the clubs a lot of money; however, the club did not do any more significant signings. Despite being linked with a move to re-sign Kaka, Milan in the end conceded defeat by stating that they were
not able to afford the wages of the striker and a move for the Brazilian was financially not feasible.
Carlo Ancelotti also swooped in for the promising youngster, Marco Verratti, from Pescara. Despite Verratti’s claims that he wanted to stay in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and preferred not moving abroad; there was no club that could afford investing into the youngster, despite
his obvious talents.
Delio Rossi went on to state that it is in the interests of the league to make it more competitive in order to attract top talents, he also commented on the budgets of the clubs and remarked:
"It has become a necessity to sign young players. Economic difficulties have led to a focus on players with lower salaries. For budgetary needs, our football requires a thorough reform. We should reduce the number of professional teams, and introduce a system
for semi-professional clubs.”
He suggested that the Lega authority should lower the number of teams in the divisions to improve the quality and make it more competitive.
