Italian football legend Paolo Rossi thrashes Inter Milan officials for the bad start – Serie A Update
The Italian World Cup legend and former Juve attacker, Paolo Rossi, thrashed Inter Milan officials for the disappointing start to the ongoing 2011/12 season and blamed their transfer policies during the summer transfer window. The Nerazzurri didn’t add any
stars to the side ahead of the current term, and instead also lost one of their best players.
The Nerazzurri currently sit just a solitary point above the relegation zone after the first 9 games of this season, losing on 5 occasions and winning just 2 fixtures. The club is known to be amongst the best in http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Italy-c2926 and the ongoing season has been a huge
disappointment for both the fans and the club.
Rossi was recently talking to Sky Sport Italia where he expressed how he felt about the current situation of Inter.
“You can’t freshen up a squad like Inter’s with players like http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Luc-Castaignos-c22500 and Ricky Alvarez. You can’t get back to being competitive with players of that nature,” said the former Italian footballer.
Moreover, Rossi believes that the top players at the club are not at their best at the moment are another big problem. The top performers from last season are lacking consistency and this has cost important points to the Nerazzurri.
“It’s evident that Inter’s principal players are not delivering the performances which they had assured over previous seasons,” added the former striker.
The former Italian international believes that Samuel Eto’o was the kind of player that should have stayed at San Siro. The Cameroonian striker was sold to the Russian outfit Anzhi Makhachkala during the summer transfer market for 30 million Euros. Rossi
believes that Eto’o was the type of player that could change the course of the game for his side.
“And let us not forget that http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Inter-c39567 let go of Samuel Eto’o in the summer, a player of reference to the side who could often resolve the outcome of a game,” concluded Rossi.
The Italian giants replaced the departing Eto’o with Diego Forlan from Atletico Madrid and Mauro Zarate. However, Forlan was a false bid as considered by many as the striker was not eligible to play for the Nerazzurri in the UEFA Champions League.
