Italian restaurants in San Diego?

Question

I'm going to San Diego this weekend (from Jersey :-) and also going on a date when I arrive out there. I'm looking for an excellent Italian restaurant, any suggestions would be greatly appreciated, thanks!

Try Sardina's in Morena Blvd., it's family owned and open since 1970.

Arrivederci Ristorante in Hillcrest.  Its a great little Italian place however it does get crowded so make sure to make a reservation.

Trattoria Acqua in La Jolla, the food is awesome and it's right o the beach. Great place to take a date.

there is a little place called "volare" in the midway area. the food is phenomenal  it a little old but only gets semi crowded so no reservations needed. just follow this link

This place is really good and perfect for a date. It is a very small, quaint restaurant with really great food.
