Italian restaurants in nyc?

taking my gf out for her bday.preferably romantic, 15-25$ a plate. thinking about ilcortile or angelo's on mulberry in little italy, anyone been there, which is better?

Of the two, Il Cortile.  The food's wonderful, but can be expensive.  I think Via Emilia on 21st and Park has great food in a lovely setting. (no credit cards here)
