The Italian word for "grandmother" is NONNA. I have a friend who spells it as NANA. I would imagine, however, if she's lived at all in the USA for any length of time and speaks English, the usual terms could apply--granny, grandmother, grandma, etc.--or even her first name (Grandma Donna is what my Mom's grandkids call her).

  2. Jan gave you a correct answer. In Italian it is Nana but in English pronounced Nonna or I would say Nahnah and in the U.S. many spell it Nonna. .
