Italians have big plans for 2011 Beach Volleyball season – Volleyball news
The Italian Volleyball Federation is all focused to make a good opening at the 2011 Beach Volleyball season.
The regular season will start with the Brasilia Open in Brazil next Monday. The double-gender competition is scheduled to complete its length from April 17-23, while the beautiful city of Rio de Janeiro in Brazil will host the activity.
The Italian beach volleyball duos will be on board to vie for the top honour of the tournament. A total of seven teams will play under the flag of Italy, which include three women’s duos and four men’s tandems. The details of the Italian players are as follows:
Women’s division
Valeria Rosso and Elisa Cella Great Cicolari and Marta Menegatti Giulia Momoli and Gioria Daniela
Men’s section
Giorgio Zauli and Cavaliere Rodolfo Matteo Ingrosso and Paolo Nicolai Paolo and Daniele Lupo Matteo Varnier and Alex Ranghieri
The Italian Volleyball Federation is optimistic that their teams will put up a valiant effort to bring the country under spotlight. They have supported the athletes in every possible way to train and prepare them for a good performance. The 2011 Brasilia
Open will be the test of their abilities. The male and female Italian beach volleyball athletes are looking forward to make good impact at the upcoming event.
The success in Brasilia Open will be a stepping-stone for Italian team to do well in the upcoming SWATCH FIVB competitions.
The Italians have the ultimate target to dig slots in the 2012 London Olympic Games. The Italian National Olympic Committee has designed different training camps, in order to prepare the team for Olympic Games.
In this connection, the Secretary General of the Italian Volleyball Federation Alberto Rabiti expressed his views and said, “Our beach volleyball boys will be staying for four months in the United States while the women's volleyball team will train in Rio
de Janeiro for two months. Investing in our champions' preparation is crucial because we believe we have good chances in the London Games.”
The Volleyball Federation and Olympic Committee of Italy are encouraging the men’s and women’s duos to stage memorable performance at the opener of 2011 SWATCH FIVB World Tour. The hopes are high that Italians will clinch success at Brasilia Open.
