Italo Antonassi topples Jamari Rose in Men’s Singles fight at XXI Pan Am Junior 2012 Team Event
Brazil’s budding shuttler Italo Antonassi showed his class on court when he displayed a phenomenal performance and crushed Jamaica’s Jamari Rose in Men’s Singles fight at the XXI Pan Am Junior 2012 Team Event in Canada, on Sunday, July 22.
The in-form Brazilian Italo was on a different level as he played complete game by employing all of his skills on court and easily thrashed his rival in a commanding fashion.
Italo played to his maximum speed in the opening set and did not take much time in winning it. He continued his aggressive performance in the following game and registered a comprehensive win over his rival by grabbing it in a dominating manner.
In the meanwhile, the underdog Jamaican was not ready for such a severe treatment from his rival. He failed to play competitive badminton against his aggressive opponent and lost the battle in straight sets with a lopsided score on the board.
The young Brazilian shuttler showed his elevated craft on court when he played with aggression and took an early lead without facing any resistance from Jamari who could not find a good rhythm.
Italo was quite consistent in the accurate execution of his powerful shots in all areas of court and established a wonderful lead on score board until the break.
After the mid-game interval, the in-form Italo continued showing his class without dropping down his speed.
The Brazilian player kept the tempo of rallies fast and remained successful in ending up the opening set with a superb 21-9 score on the board.
In the second game, Italo again showed his superiority on court when he took an early lead and pushed his rival on back foot.
Jamari, on the other hand, could not show a strong defence and remained struggling on score board until the one-minute break.
After the interval, Italo maintained his upper hand over Jamari by playing positive and focused badminton and eventually finished off the second game with a striking margin of 21-11.
The aggressive Italo stamped his mark over Jamari in just 26 minutes by putting up a staggering 21-9 and 21-11 score on the board.
