Question:

Italy Honeymoon on a Budget?

by  |  earlier

0 LIKES UnLike

My fiance and I are getting married in the fall and are trying to plan a trip to Italy for our honeymoon. Unfortunately, we can't seem to get within our budget (or our travel agent can't). Does a week-long honeymoon in Italy for $6,000-$7,000 sound possible? The prices we have been getting are closer to $8,000-$9,000.

Thanks for any help.

  1. $8,000-$9,000 seems a little high.  I agree with the other person that said Tuscany is a great place for a honeymoon.  I was just in Siena last week and stayed at a very nice convent for 30 Euros a night per person.  The information for that place is:  Hotel Alma Domus Siena - Via Camporegio, 37 Tel: 0577 44177-44487

You just need to do some research online and you can easily find affordable places to stay.  www.sidestep.com is always a good website.

    Good Luck!

  2. Fall is not a very high season here in Italy.

I'm pretty sure you can lower the price of your trip booking directly the hotels ( http://en.reserver.it ), trains (http://www.trenitalia.com ) and planes.

but most of all, it can depend on the exchange among Euro and your currency

  3. affordabletours.com  I just booked with them and saved $3,000.   They are awesome!  Good luck and enjoy the trip.  I will be in italy in 3 days for the 1st time, soooo excited (!!)

  4. For a romantic and budget honeymoon I suggest Tuscany, definitely!

It has so much to offer to visitors... not only the most known cities (Florence, Siena, Pisa, S. Gimignano, Volterra....), but also a wonderful countryside.

If you choose the right place to stay, you can conveniently visit the whole Tuscany, and even to save money. (remind that the famous cities are also very expensive!)

I've been with my boyfriend in the "Romeo" apartment, in Gambassi, near Florence. The apartment is really nice and romantic.

We had a really good stay, at a cheap price.

    the website is:

    http://www.vacanzainchianti.it

The place is very convenient to visit the whole Tuscany (Florence, Siena, Pisa, S. Gimignano, Volterra at 30 minutes-1hour driving max).

In addition, the landscape is really a dream: hills, vineyards, olive grooves..... you can walk at sunset... fantastic!

    Look at the page:

    http://collina.vacanzainchianti.it/

    for photos of the countryside.

Do not forget wine and good food, obviously!

Fall is even the time of grape and olive harvesting.
