Question:

Italy Pressure?

I've never been to Italy. My family and friends who have been there all rave about it. I simply have no desire whatsoever to go to Italy. I have a long list of places to travel to and Italy is not one of them. Does this make me a bad person?

  1. simply don't go

  2. I'm italian but well, i didn't get offend of this your question.. yes, maybe italy is one of the most visited country by tourist, but that doesnt mean that ALL people of this world love it and want to visit that..

so, i think is normal if you dont want to go.. then you've told that you've never been there, so, maybe if you came here you would like it.. here we say "se non ci provi non lo sai" that means "if you dont try it, you dont know how is"...

however, of course that dont make you a bad person..=)

    ciao!

  3. Absolutely not.

Why you should be a bad person?

For example I always desired to visit USA and I did it, but I'm not interested to go to Easter Europ.

Every one have the right to go where he prefer.

Why spent money to do something that you don't like?

For istance I travelled a lot when I was thirty years old.

Now I'm 45 and I'm tired of travelling. I prefer stay in Rome and spend my time with my 4 years old  nephew  adopted from India.

    It's a choice.

Bad is someone that hurts other people feeling not you becouse you don't like going in Italy.

  4. I would have never guessed I would have had so much to do with Italy when growing up in the NY metro area. I could have never imagined it. I thought that maybe I would have chosen to work in Spain or even England... never Italy. I've been working in and around & have had to do with Italy for about 30 years.

Are you Italo-American? Does everyone rave about the "mother country" and that you just have to visit to see your roots? Are you getting that kind of stuff from your family & friends?

In any case - you shouldn't feel bad at all.... It ain't for everone. I know people who prefer Germany, Switzerland,  Hungaria or places in Asia. One man's meat is another man's posion... what is good for one may not be good for another. Don't sewat it. BUT - if your friends and family get together and offer you a trip to Italy then accept it... if for anything just to see what all the hype is all about.

Fare well where ever you may go.

  5. why would that make u a bad Pearson , if u don't like a place then u don't like it,but i should tell u Italy is a great place i have been there a few times and i loved it. u should give it a try so when people ask if uv been to itly u can be all like yeah ive been to italy .lol

  6. No, everybody has their own particular interests. It doesn't make you a bad person. Italy wasn't high on my priorities of places to visit when I started traveling either (I wouldn't say I had no interest though). However, when I finally made it here I loved it. So much that I've been living here for over 8 years.

It's very easy to get around in Italy and there's always something interesting going on. The people are great, the art and architecture are fascinating,  there's beautiful scenery, and then there's the food. But then, you can say similar things about other countries too. See things in your own order and time, but do think about your pririties from time to time. Italy is definitely worth visiting.
