I'm planning to hop around a couple of cities in Italy using the train but I can't seem to find a proper map which shows the schedule or pricing.

I've tried going onto the Trenitalia website but everything is italian! i also tried to randomly search for trains travelling between different cities at different times but they always say it's not available...help!!!

  1. Look at James Martin's Italin rail map.... and plan your rail travel with the train italia site.

I enjoy travelling by train... except when you are on a tight schedule and trains are running late!!!

    Have a good trip.

  2. Try raileurope.com They have one or multi country passes available

  3. Just show up at the train station. Train travel in Italy is totally different from the U.S. Trains are coming and going everywhere all the time. So, if you plan to "hop around" then just hop at whim.

  4. trenitalia... in english!

    buon viaggio

    Alessandro

  5. I've looked for it many times with no success... now i've found this one: you have to click on the region you're interested in.

it's not very effective, but just to have an idea...

  6. unfortunately the only time I saw an Italy Train Map was on paper on the official (paper) train timetable booklet, sold at the newsagents.

Trenitalia has an English flag to change the language but, anyhow, you won't find a map. Use the search "from where" "to where" to make your planning.

I tried to find a map in the web but apparently there are none.

  7. Go to AAA.  You should try to purchase at least some of your rail in advance, esp. if you know dates.  It saves alot of grief and when you do, you'll have both tickets and rail map.
