I am going to spend a week on and around the Amalfi coast area. Are there any "must do's" and or "must sees"? I am in my early 20s, on a budget, and into hiking, swimming (anythign active), and cafes.

Thanks!!!

  1. i'm going too!  we'll be on the amalfi coast for three days and are stying in positano. we found a great budget place, about 75 Euros a night called Pensione La Fenice.

From positano we are taking a day trip to Pompei to see the ruins on the SITA, a bus that departs every thirty minutes from the station, and visiting capri for the day where we chartered a boat to the 'blue grotto' (15 Euro) you have to lay on your back to get into this cave where the light from beneath turns the water bright aqua blue. awesome snorkeling and diving in the area.  you'll love it!  check out sorrento and amalfi for shopping and a better beach scene.

    Safe travels!

  2. The amalfi coast has mostly shopping and beaches!! The shopping can get costly because it is a tourist area. There are no must sees put Pompii and herculm are at 30 min away you can take the train. You can take water taxi to the island also.
