  1. Go to the Italy embassy and get all information about Visa and other things.

  2. You can use this Italian government site to determine whether you need a visa and the documents needed for entry into Italy. http://www.esteri.it/visti/home_eng.asp The requirements depend on citizenship, residence, duration and purpose of your stay in Italy.

If you need a visa, there is a link to the application form and the supporting information you need to supply. there are also addresses for the Embassy/Consulates in your country where you need to submit the application. You should contact them for any additional information you need.

I received a visa for work in Italy several years ago. At that time, it took about 8 months to assemble all the supporting documentation - work permit, etc. However, after the application was submitted it took about a week to get the visa - I had to go in person to the consulate and my passport was returned by mail.

  3. just ask the Italian embassy and if all the documents are correct you get your VISA in three days... i got mine in Boston like 2 months ago but unluckily, not all of my documentation was correct so it took me like 10 days!
