Have you ever been to Italy? And, even if you haven't, what do you think about the connection between Italy and mafia? Is it so strong?

And what about Naples garbage? Were you planning a holiday in Naples and you cancelled it?

  1. ohi ma che caz...z dici

non è per niente vero, anche in america ci sono le zone malfamate

  2. Yes...actually I lived and studied there. I would not recommend seeing the southern portion of Italy as there a TONS and I mean tons of gypies, who will steal you blind. And it is full of mafia.. if you even look at someone the wrong way it could lead to trouble, even the women not necessarily true just for the men of these groups anymore..!!!.the southern part especially Naples is dirty...there is an unemployment rate of almost 55% in Southern Italy and it is not taken care of. We went swimming in Sicily, there was literally c**p floating in the water because the septic systems lead into the ocean...GROSS.. there are many cute cities within Sicily,.what a shame,....we went there to do some scuba diving and the water smelled terrible and that's when we noticed the c**p... this is true from Naples downward...  there is a division among Northern people and Southern people..North hates South for many reasons...I would go from Rome up---Tuscany,Florence, Bologna,Milan,Lucca, Como...for some much cleaner, great food.. to think that Switerzland which is half an hour from Como is SPOTLESS and clean...it's hard to believe!!!

  3. To answer your questions:

I have been to Italy....loved it so much that I moved here 2 years ago to live.

I think foreigners are too obsessed with the Mafia here. There is the mafia in each and every country, all just with different names but doing the same old think. Chinese mafia, russian, turkish...even Australian....every country there is organised crime so get it out of your head that there is a problem here. If you come here you will not even know the mafia exists as why would they bother a tourist?

Naples rubbish - I was there a few weeks ago, it was bad but things are getting better.

So in answer to the last question I did not cancel my trip to naples.

  4. Hi there, i'm italian, from Turin...

well, at first, if you're wondering what the thirs answer is saying, the translation is "oh, what the h**l are you speaking about.. also in the USA there are some bad repute zone"

however... i live in Turin, north of italy, west of Milan..

Yes, south of italy has a lot of problem, of course more and more than the rest of italy and the rest of europe..

At first, north of italy has one of the best school average of Europe, but cause of South, Italy's average is much low than europe's average.

Same thing about sanity, north italy has the 2nd best sanity in europe (st is France) but the hospital of the south don't deserve to be called "hospital"...  And at least we have rules, while in the south they don't respect nothing, they just think to themself, and yes, it's true, some of them aren't even able to speak italian, they just speak their own dialect.. =s

Unlucky there is the mafia, it just make things worse, and that's a big problem, but it's also true that Naples people do nothing to make better their situation, they also don't know the meanning of the word "recycle" so it's also their fault if now they are full of "monnezza"..

Expect on the beautiful seeing and place, south of italy shouldn't deserve to be part of Italy, they have no rules, no life style.

    Ciao

  5. if you think about italy you don't have to think about mafia. italy is a wonderful country. of course at the moment there are some problems about the rubbish in napoli. in some cities could be mafia but  unfortunately in every town there are criminals in every country. the south is different from north. I live in the north( sorry for my english) and last summer I went to south. I've found it really different from the place where I live....in conclusion Italy is a beautiful country and you can come here for a fantastic holiday!
