  1. A southern City = Cantanzaro, the capital of Calabria, the "tip" of the boot.

    Climate, sort of like ours, unless you are up in the mountains, which most of Italy is in.


  2. Verona is nice, with lots of historic sites and it's easy to walk around in. Also it has great shopping.

    Italy's climate is like northern California wine country. Not too humid, mild winters (except in the mountains) and lots of sunshine. The best time to visit is in the spring or early summer. July is too hot and some places don't have air conditioning, and August is when the people go on vacation.
