Italy hotels?

Question

what is the average price of hotel in Italy for one day, in ROME? could u give me any hints on what's the best to save money from staying in Italian hotels? I think I'll visit italy in the end of December 2007

I want to visit the Vatican as well.

i just came back from rome not long ago, you can get a good hotel, small but really nice for about 60 euro. thats in the heart of rome too. also be warned if your going to the vatican, get up REALLY early the line is shocking. have fun!

I usually use www.selectitaly.com to book hotels they seem to have cheap and good stuff on the website. You should be able to visit the vatican but they are closed Dec 23,25,26, and limited hours the rest of the week.Here is there website http://mv.vatican.va. Depending on how old you are you can try to stay at youth hostels. But I would say its easier to say at a hotel because you can leave you stuff there when you go out.
