  1. I'm italian, I live in Turin.. as some people said, living in the north is totally different than in the south.. life is better, with more laws, more polite and less trash...

We are not racist,a nd we don't hate black people or spanish.. well, italy and spain are really friend each other...

there are the same laws everywhere, but in the north they respect them, while in the south few of them do it.. cops are the same of all the other country.. but I think they're too "good" sometimes...

anywayw, if you'll come here, i'm sure you'll like! =)

    ciao

  2. if you go to northern italy you'll be fine, all the laws and police work as they should. racism isn't a problem.

in the south a different story, high crime, no rule of law, police force that do squat, high unemployment, no contract of employment.

i am english and live in the south with my italian wife. i can tell you that if i'd come here on my own i'd have packed my bags and left long ago... it took me 2 years just to get residence and health care.. bureaucracy is a nightmare, and no one will help you..

i have many friends here from southern america, venezuela, argentina and Uruguay. they seem to have less problems as the languages spanish and italian are very similar.

life here at the minute is very hard, with many people in trouble with low wages and rising prices. years of government mismanagement has not help this situation and i think it will never change.

  3. ^The people are friendly and Italy is a great place to live.  The laws are different than those in the USA, and the police take no garbage as do American police.  Treat the police with respect and you will be OK.

  4. I am italian living in Florence and we are not racist at all and we love spanish people.. we don't like very much immigrants like people from Romania and Albania because they are aggressive and very often criminals.. the cops are usually extremely honest and would never be aggressive unless you are committing something extremely serious and offensive... law is certainly milder than in the States .. we do not have death penalty and it is hard to make a living but it all depends on your job... personally I have a very good one.. I am not rich but certainly I make enough money to live without worries

  5. I was stationed in the north in Vicenza for three years and it was great. If anything italians like black people and many girls at the clubs do too. Italy is awesome, the food is great, the lifestyle relaxed, the scenery is beautiful, the people are kind. Driving in Italy is no big deal both around towns and the autostrada. Depending on what you are doing for work, you can make a fine living there, perhaps teaching English. If you have the chance, you should definitly go, you will love it!

  6. I lived in Italy from 2004 until earlier this year. My husband was in the Military are we were stationed over there. Anyway, I think Italians are the warmest, nicest people I have ever met. I fell in love with the Italian culture so much that we decided to move off base and rent a house just so we could expose our children more to the Italian culture. It was incredible!

Let's see! What can I say about the police there? If you're driving in Italy and you're pulled over and given a ticket....You probably deserve it! LOL The driving is crazy ( Especially where I lived! ) and it's unusual to see the police pull people over. They do stand on the side of the road and wave these things and often have you stop to check and make sure you have insurence. But the police are pretty cool there!

I lived in Naples and it's a poorer part of Italy, so I know there was a lot of unemployment there. I traveled all through Italy and I heard that unemployment wasn't as bad in other rigions.

There are a lot of African immigrants in Italy, as well as many US MIlitary members that are stationed there that are black and I never heard that there was any problem with that. I'm sure like anywhere, there are Italians that are raciest, but I don't believe it's a huge problem there. It was VERY common to see Italian woman with black American Military members.

All in all, Italy is WONDERFUL! Even if it's just for a small amount of time, I would encourage anyone to live there!

I hope this a little helpful:)

  7. Hi, we don't hate black or spanish people, where did you read that? as far as police and justice are concerned... have you got maybe another question? :-)

be aware that unemployment rate is really high, but if you are willing to work hard you won't have huge problems, everything depends on which city you'd like to move to. I'm from Rome, if you need further information feel free to ask me. hope it helped!
