  1. i believe the exchange today was(here in Italy ) 1 euro equals 1.56 dollars...give or take a few cents with the daily mraket exchange, remember the comission for changing foriegn currency,  maybe arrives about 1 euro...1.49 american    200 dollars about 134-136 euros.

  2. Simple and easy, use an online currency converter like this:

    http://www.xe.com/ucc/

  3. 1998:

$200 US = Roundtrip airfare, NY to Rome (off-season).

    2008:

$200 US = lunch for 2 in Piazza Navona

Sheesh! What a difference after ten years!!

Interestingly, as soon as Italy adopted the Euro as its official monetary unit, pizzeria prices roundly doubled in Rome. What was a 5000-lire 'slice' of pizza rustica (about $2.25 USD in early '98) became a 5-Euro meal overnight.

    Anywho...

$200 USD is now about €128 and a quarter (click here: http://finance.yahoo.com/currency/conver...

For more on the Euro, countries that use it, those that don't plus more than anyone would wanna know on the subject, there's a *gigantic* Yahoo Answers post by Emet Ha'Agur at http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?...
