Question:

Italy rail travel - Trenitalia question?

I know you can buy train passes in advance that give you unlimited use for a number of days. I also know you can buy a specific ticket in person at the train station (for example, a ticket from Florence to Genoa). My question is, can you purchase a pass (for 2 or 3 days) that gives you unlimited use in person at the train station? Or must those passes be bought in advance? Thanks.

  1. You can buy a pass in person directly at the train station in Italy, but only in main cities (for example Rome, Milan and Naples).
