FIGC Vice-President believes that while the draw is no despair, the Azzurri should have earned their qualification to quarter-finals with a clinical finish against the Blazers.
Demetrio Albertini has voiced his criticism for Italy after their 1-1 stalemate against Croatia, stating that they wrongly went too deep in the second half.
The Azzurri has picked up just two points from their first two Group C matches, and will need a win in their upcoming game against the Irish in order to have any chance of progressing to the quarter-finals.
Albertini pointed out to Italy’s lack of bravery in the second-half that was integral to driving them forward in the first-half of the game.
The FIGC chief stressed that it was a mistake on the part of the Nazionale to go too deep in the latter half of the game, and insisted that the team was unlucky to concede in the only real chance against them.
The Vice-President stated that the Azzurri should have wrapped up their struggles of the group stage with a win against the Blazers, but maintained that despite the draw there is no despair.

While talking to the press, the 40-year-old said:
“We went too deep in the second half and seemed almost afraid, unable to push forward the way we did in the first half. http://www.senore.com/Football-soccer/Croatia-c2879 made the most of the only real chance they had. All we can do is win the next game. We know qualification is within our reach
and with a little more luck today we could’ve put it under our belts.”
Albertini went on to hail Mario Balotelli for the improvement he has shown over his previous game, and insisted that the striker is turning into a formidable asset for his national side.

The FIGC official stressed that all the players in Italy’s national squad are motivated to bring pride to their country.
