Italy vs. Romania: Player Ratings
Marica opened the scoring for Romania just after half hour mark. Marica again scored for the second time in this match but this time he netted the ball in wrong post to give Italy a much needed equaliser in the 80th minute. Here are

Emiliano Viviano 6.5
It was a decent performance from him and wasn’t helped much by an occasionally slow defence in front of him. Let a couple of efforts bobble in front of him, but never when it could have made his team pay.
Andrea Ranocchia 5.5
He was given Italy debut but failed to impress against Romania. The young defender looked out of form and was outdone by Romanian attack on many occasions.
Leonardo Bonucci 6.5
He was slow to react at time during the first half. But as the game wore on he started to look more comfortable and calmed.
Federico Balzaretti 7
He was well involved with the ball, but was caught out of position when his team lost possession. He was booked late in the first half.
Davide Santon 6.5
The young right back of Inter Milan got forward well but was responsible for Romanian opener. He was replaced after first half.
Cristian Ledesma 6
He couldn’t have possibly given a worse account of himself in his first 45 minutes on his debut. He was rightly replaced after first half.
Stefano Mauri 6
He had a decent game in the midfield, anchored few Italian attacks and played well as a holding midfielder.
Alberto Aquilani 6.5
He had a decent game in the midfielder but could have done better when a bouncing ball came his way 20 yards from goal but he screwed his effort well wide of the post.
Giuseppe Rossi 6.5
He was given the captain’s arm-band but failed to inspire his side against Romania.
Mario Barwuah Balotelli 8
Without a doubt, the young Manchester City gun was the only stand-out performer of Italy. He tormented Romanian attack in first half on many occasion. His substitution after an hour mark is still a mystery.

Costel Pantilimon 7.5
The Romanian keeper had very little to do in the first period and was given the second half off completely.

The Inter Milan veteran left back had to leave the pitch with hamstring injury.
Sebastien Gabriel Tamas 7
He led effectively from the back and inspired him team throughout ninety minutes.
Razvan Dinca Rat 7
He assisted Marica for Romanian opener in first half. He had a good game by his standards.
Cornel Rapa 7
He was more than happy to carry the ball forward when called upon and had no fear about getting stuck in on Rossi.
Adrian Ropotan 6.5
He worked hard across midfield and allowed the forwards to see plenty of the ball as his team dominated for a good hour.
Ciprian Deac Marica: 8
He was the standout performer from the Romanian side, he opened the scoring for the visitors but was unfortunate as he, himself scored the equaliser. It was an exceptional performance from the Romanian midfielders.
Gabriel Torje 7
He was quick to put a tackle in on Rossi in particular as he covered well for the back four.
George Mihay Florescu 7
He fed the forward men well as his team looked very dangerous on the break and could have had an assist or two with better finishing from others.
Bogdan Stancu 7
Stancu had a decent game by his standards and played a perfect role of shadow striker.
