was it just me or did the qerman ref that was the ref for the italy vs spain qame seem to favor the italians more?

i mean A LOT of the calls spain qot called aqainist for was the SAME EXACT foul that italy did in the SAME SPOT & DIDNT qet called for!! i dont qet that! i mean did it seem the ref favored the italians more or was that just me?!? i mean seriously! that ref was so over the place. he would stop the play when some player for italy went down, when you CLEARLY could tell they werent dyinq or really hurt! i think if a player is bleedinq, in EXTREM pain, or SERIOUSLY hurt keep playinq! they players use that "oh the ref is qonna tell them to kick the ball out" to qive their team to time to reqroup.

i mean idk, maybe im beinq too harsh, but that qerman ref didnt do a qood job with the qame! he did HORRIBLE!!!

  1. i think he just did not want to give any easy calls

it seemed like he was favoring italy because spain was attacking more and he did not call some obvious penalty shots

to me though it just looked like he made up his mind that he was not going to call any penalty kicks or make any calls on what he saw as "dives"

he seemed like he said to himself that he was not going to give the game to any team with a penalty kick

i also saw him miss a few calls against italy that usually would have been free kicks

  2. Ah man, I remember watching that and saying to myself, "WTF?"

An absolute horrible job, and I'm wiked disappointed that Italy lost. I really wanted them to win!

  3. well it was obvious he was making bad calls but the funniest thing was the anouncer guy on tv was just raiding on the ref saying he was the worst ref he had ever seen.

"studpid, stupid, stupid!" were his exact words and they fit that ref perfectly.

  4. dude......i mean dudette thats so true!!!!i was getting so mad!!! its so weird cuz i was so thinking that 2!!!! great minds think alike;) im so glad spain won tho!!!! wooohooo!!!!!!!:o i should of bet my dad!!!!

  5. I saw a lot of firsts during this game... I almost couldn't watch.

There should have been 3 penalties for Spain in the first half alone, also should have been a red card for a player on both teams: 1 for an Italian guy took down a Spaniard after he hit the ground -Schweinsteiger did something similar and got an instant red)

2 for Guiza (Spain) for a blatant control of the ball with his hands.

I have only seen a ref stop the game due to an injury maybe 3 times in my life... and it happened twice in this game alone... both times WHILE SPAIN WAS ON A COUNTER-ATTACK.

I'm sorry, but football is a continuous flow... you can't just stop it for no reason (unless you get paid to do so).

I've also never seen a ref give someone (David Villa) a yellow card for slipping and falling... for "diving".

The bigger question is (and thats actually how I came across the question on Yahoo), is what WE as spectators have to say... because first of all commentators can say the ref is c**p, but they can't say it was rigged... which goes the same for UEFA and its news outlets...

I for one, and 98% sure the Italians paid some money for that.

It is definitely not news that they have done this in the past and continue to do so.  Look at who owns Milan and Juventus.

I am still ecstatic that Italy is out.  I hate them with a passion because of EXACTLY this issue.

Herbert Fandel: I hope you got a lot of mozzarella for that match.
