love the country, very beautiful cities, lots of good historic things to see, great food.........too bad that it has a bad reputation for being the worst place to have items stolen from you.  I never have, but the word around most hostels is keep your luggage locked to you at all times----else its gone

I love Italy. It's one of my favorite countries, and Florence is one of my favorite cities. (Yummy. I love the gelato at Vivoli.) And the food! Yummmmm. Plus the art. And the architecture. The only city I didn't like in Italy as Milan, but it was only because it's so much like New York City, and that's where I was from. It was like going to Little Italy in Manhattan but with more Italian people. My only regret is that I don't remember very much Italian from my studies. I don't have a use for speaking it, so I forgot much of it. Oh wait. How's this: Ho studiato l'italiano per dodici anni ma non ricordo niente. That's probably wrong but oh well!

It's a wonderful country to visit--great food, historic buildings and museums, beautiful coastline and lots of wine country.  Something for everybody.
