Itchy eyes..?

OK so my eyes are really bothering me. I have allergies so it usually happens around this time of year, but it's never been this bad. They're all red and itchy and they burn a little. I put some eye drops in them and they haven't helped at all. I'm really getting sick of this. Anything else I can do?

  1. The only thing I can think of is maybe wrapping some ice in a towel and putting them on your eyes. That might keep you from itching them for a while, at least!

  2. Never use Visine...that is all that I have to say! If you don't want to go to the eye doctor and make sure that it is nothing more than an allergy, and let him/her give you samples of different kinds of drops; then talk to your local pharmacist. There are many different over the counter drops to try. One drop that may work for one person may do nothing for someone else. It's a kind of hit and miss thing.

It will be alright...I know that it is a pain right now.

    Best Wishes

  3. Is there any discharge coming from your eyes? If so then you may actually have some conjuctivitis. This is easily cleared up. Try a drop with some boric acid in it. (can get at any drug store over the counter.) If the symptoms persist, see you primary care provider. He/She should be able to help or refer you to someone ho can.

  4. I would take some Benadryl or go see a doctor.

  5. Try lying down with a cool damp washcloth over your eyes and listening to some music to keep your mind off of it. The more you think about the itch the worse it will annoy you.
