  1. It could be mites, you can't see them, but they are there, or it could be a skin infection.

  2. im not sure but they might have mites.Check for eggs. Also, like humans, pets also have itches,so they might just be scratching.I dont think you need to take it to the vet,but try taking them to the petsstore where you got them and ask what is wrong.while you are there browse through the hamster books, they might tell you what it is

  3. Hamsters can also get fleas, just like cats or dogs. I would check the cage and bedding and check your hamster too. If they do have fleas i'm not to sure how to get rid of them with hamsters...

  4. Some parasites can be hard almost impossible to see with just the naked eye. Or they could possibly just be grooming themmselves. Parasites are usuallly contagious and pass from one animal to another. But then again all hamster groom. If it looks more severe then just grooming then you can take matters into your own hands,

    Good Luck!! ^^

  5. It could be mites. They are very hard to see with the naked eye. Go to the pet store and ask them for those things that hook on the cage for mite and bug control.

  6. My hamsters use to do that all the time.

Mites are really small, but  this sounds like a possibility.

The other thing I would consider is a bedding allergy - especially if you're using pine or cedar. Corn is another itchy bedding for some hamsters.
