Itchy skin/body with no rash???

Question

my mother has an itchy body with no rash. Her entire body itches all the time. It prickles and burns. She recently went on a trip to brazil two weeks ago however the itching has only begun this weekend. My sister complained of the itching while in brazil which has not gone away and she is suffering with similar symptoms. They have taken antihistamines etc to no relief. Any idea what this could be? No rash or marks at all?

get them to go to the doctors.. it could be a allergic reaction. you can get allergic reactions with no marks or rashes. so i just advise going to the doctors. if the can't think of anything go see a specialist? hope i helped

Scabies? Does it usually itch more at nightime? Scabies can be caught from other people infected or from dogs with mange. It's quite common and can be easily sorted out by a lotion from any local chemist. Incredibly itchy but no rash appears. Scabies is a type of mite that borrows undreneath the skin and lays eggs. Humans and dogs have a reaction to the faeces of the mites. Sounds disgusting but very easy to get rid of. Need to wash bed clothes and clothing when treating yourself.
