Item received from Ebay?

I recently bourght a CD from someone on ebay for about £4.00. It took 3 wks to arrive, and I'm gutted to see that it's a copy. It stated no where that it would be a copy, it is also bent due to poor packaging. I'm quite annoyed about this and feel a bit of a mug. Should I ask for a refund? What would you do?

(sorry if i got the wrong catagory here)

  1. report them con men and fraudsters should be exposed so they can`t con others.

  2. Hi

    Yes of course...

Email them stating what you have here and request a refund, if they ignore you then ...

Report them to Ebay , as Ebay/ Paypal may refund your £.

Leave Leave them Negitive Feedback to warn other buyers.

Always check out how many items they have sold and there feedback, i don't mind buying fake but only if they state it in there listing but not many do.

You do have rights so please use them.

  3. I'd report the seller to Ebay

  4. Contact Ebay customer support and ask them if you are eligible for a refund you may be if you bought the item via Paypal, you will need to open a dispute, I've had problems with Ebay recently and their response was utterly appalling, all they do is pass the buck onto someone else and don't offer any protection at all and were basically protecting the con artist over myself, so I've told them I certainly won't be doing custom with their site again, talk about dodgy, plus you might get negative feedback from the seller who sent you the copy, and though its not your fault, negative feedback can tarnish your reputation which is unfair, good luck.

  5. I agree with Slodge, email the seller and at least give them the option of refunding/replacing before you report them.

  6. report the seller to ebay then open a dispute with paypal ( if that is how you paid ) to get your money back, neither ebay or paypal take kindly to sellers selling copys, if you do not wish to get in touch with the seller then dont let ebays dispute console do it or use paypals , either way dont let the seller get away with it.

  7. I would ask for a refund, some DVD movies are piroted as well and if it does not state that it is a copy in the description, then you need to get your money back. It is suppose to be packed well, so th eitem does not get damaged, as an ebay seller, I know this, always check out the buyers feedback before purchasing an items from. If you do not get a refund, report this person to ebay.

  8. Send it back, some users dont accept returns, but this person will be liable to give your money back if it wasn't properly stated that its a copy

  9. Like the previous poster. Report them. It's really effective.

  10. ask for a refund and report him.

  11. I would email the seller and tell them you are not happy, if you do not get a refund from them i would report them to Ebay for selling fake goods.

  12. Yes!  You should email the seller & tell them the problem.   If you used paypal to pay, you can also file a complaint with them & a lot of times they will refund your money.  Email the seller first & see if they offer a refund first.  Also remember, do NOT leave feedback till you're totally happy with the outcome & if you're not happy...  you can always leave them negative feedback to warn others of their shoddy services.

  13. Report it to Ebay as copies are not allowed to be sold so therefore the seller is breaking the law. Ebay will guide you through the process.

However, if you dont want to go through Ebay ans simply just want you money back then just contact the seller and explain the problem. I had a similar problem recently and the seller returned my money no problem. However as the seller is breaking the law you really should report them to Ebay asap.

  14. email and ask for a refund as the item was not as described and in a poor condtion when it reached you. some ebayers are reasonable and will accomodate you especially if they have 100% positive feeback. you can always threaten that you will inform ebay that he has been illegally selling copied cds while passing them off as genuine.  ebay takes a serious line when copyrights have been breached.  you can also leave negative feedback for this perswon and the new system now allows you to rate posting and packaging charges.  i know this system doesnt seem like justice has been done bsince you've been ripped off.  on the other hand though you may have to send it back at your own cost but if they are a reputable dealer they may reimburse you on this cost.

    hope this helps
