Its 2 out of 2 for Daniel Moreno, the Spaniard claimed his second victory at the Vuelta a Burgos 2012
Daniel Moreno is undoubtedly enjoying the best season of his professional career and things are only getting better as the cyclist heads towards the second part of the season.
He is currently seen in action at the Vuelta a Burgos and he managed to continue his tremendous form to bag the second stage of the race.
Moreno continued his winning momentum during the stage 2 of the race and crossed the finish line in a quickest time of 3 hours, 11 minutes and 14 seconds.
Sergio Luis Henao of Team Sky Procycling was right behind Daniel’s wheel throughout the race and fell two second short of his Spanish competitor.
Simon Clarke of Team Orica GreenEdge finished further five seconds behind at the third spot with Giovanni Visconti of Team Movistar and Rigoberto Uran of Team Sky holding the fourth and the fifth positions respectively.
"I want to thank my teammates, they allowed me to be in fourth, fifth position when the last climb started," said Moreno.
"Purito was especially incredible: he was great when he launched my sprint, he imposed a very tough pace and I had to do nothing but do my best in the last 300 meters”.
"These stages were very actually suitable to my characteristics, but I admit I'm very satisfied with my condition at this time,"
"Tomorrow should be for sprinters, but the day after tomorrow there will be the stage I won last year”.
The 30-year-old bagged his first victory of the 2012 season at the GP Miguel Indurain and also claimed stages at the Criterium du Dauphine and the Vuelta a Andalucia.
Aitor Galdos of Team Caja Rural wins the first and the second sprints of the race while Romain Sicard of Team Euskaltel-Euskadi succeeded at the 30 kilometre sprint three of the event.
David Belda of Team Burgos-BH-Castilla claimed the first and the second mountains of the race while Sergio Luis Henao of Team Katusha securing the 141 kilometre final climb of the event.
Daniel is now leading the stage 2 classifications with a margin of 2 seconds over Sergio Luis Henao of Team Sky Pro Cycling.
Matti Breschel, Giovanni Visconti and Johan Chaves secured the third, the fourth and the fifth positions after the stage 2 classifications at the Vuelta a Burgos 2012.
