Its About Time Liriano Came Back To the Bigs

Question

he was having some great numbers in minor league starts and they didnt want to bring him up because it was money in their pocket..now that hes back and pitching like the Cy Young candidate before surgery will he be what the Twins need to win the AL Central, and do you think he wouldve made more of a difference if theycalled him up a month or two ago??

Hopefully he'll be back to his old self, because the Twins could use his pitching in the AL Central battle.

Twins win!!  Although, Liriano pitched well yesterday he still fell behind to many batters and has to work on pitching ahead in the count.

Totally true. When I saw Liriano pitching back in 06 I was tremendously impressed. The guy has Cy Young caliber stuff.

I do think that the Twins would have a really good chance of winning the AL Central with him.

It definitely would have served the twins better to have Liarano before going into the funk they had a couple weeks ago. But now they have a fresh arm that can get deep into games and can give them an advantage in an otherwise mediocre AL Central. Right now, I think the Twins are a slightly better team than the White Sox. If Liarano can hold up, expect the Twins to make a serious run at the Central division.

i think if he pitches the way we all know he's capable of, then he's going to make a big difference for the twins coming down the stretch...the white sox and tigers both have a lot of offensive firepower and it will really help them to have an extra arm like liriano's back in the rotation...i don't know how much of a difference he would have made before, and frankly i don't think they have enough experience as a team to win the al central over chicago, but we'll see what happens
