  1. here in the uk england we have just had our 5th solid day of sunshine temp 64 farenhite in february thats not cold

  2. Here this will chill you out !

    or more detail..

  3. The template is that "global warming" or "climate change" or the old term "global cooling" is to blame for everything bad that can or will ever happen on this planet.  You don't even need science to make the connections.  Just let your emotions run wild.

And it's all caused by man and his pursuit of happiness.  Fire bad, therefore man is bad for creating fire.  Cars bad, therefore man who created wheel is bad.

There's no solution, but if you'll agree to pay higher taxes and restrict your freedoms drastically, we promise it will make you feel better.   Isn't guilt wonderful?

  4. Last week there were record high temperatures in the Mid-Atlantic region.

Global warming is a misnomer.  It is global climate change that is the problem.  Symptoms of this are extreme swings in localized temperatures.

If you are going to rant, at least read up on what you are ranting about.

  5. Think about it... how much would the one degree of warming so far affect normal (extreme) winter temperature variations?

How could a few days or months of normal Winter weather vairations say anything about lonng term, global climate?

Local weather and global climate are different topics.

  6. Global warming is not a blowtorch that eliminates winter. It's a small but steady increase in AVERAGE temperature that will cause great damage if we do nothing.

For a short time, in some places, winter weather can overcome global warming. But, long run, over the whole Earth, the AVERAGE temperature is increasing. NASA data:

    http://data.giss.nasa.gov/gistemp/2007/

We need to do something about that.

  7. Huh?

This is about the dumbest question I've seen as yet.

  8. I was at home in Los Angeles last week.  I was watering my palm tree and inspecting the lemons on my dwarf lemon tree (Sorry, that's " vertically challenged" lemon tree).  I was minding my own business when I heard about the avalanche that killed three skiers not far from me in the San Gabriel Mountains.  There was more snow up there than you could shake a stick at!

Regional weather conditions have little to do with the problem of global warming.  It is the rapid decline of permanent ice in the arctic regions which is the big concern.   If I lived in Bangladesh I would be looking for a new place to rent for myself, the palm tree, and the lemon tree - a place which is on much higher ground than most of the country.  Hilltop property will be expensive.  Bummer.

  9. Good grief, Global warming is a global event, hence the name global warming. It has got nothing to do with what is happening outside your front door. The planet is getting warmer. But, again you probably picked that up from the name. But, this is an average warming of the planet and if you look at regional graphs you will see that it is much warmer at the poles and in fact slightly cooler as you move to the equator....

So in fact this is "the most ludicrous question ever"
