  1. Turn your heating/cooling down. Tough out the cold/warm for a day. Its not so bad

  2. Take care of the tree you planted in answer #1.  It will need water every couple of days for a few months.

Plant another one for me, my yard here is covered in concrete.

  3. PLANT A TREE!!!!!! :)

  4. Earth Day should be everyday!  But if you are just celebrating our lovely Earth tomorrow, try walking around your neighborhood and collecting trash.  Plant some trees.  Spread some grass seed where its needed...  Walk around promoting solar energy and show people how they can purchase green energy from their local electric companies and take it as a write-off on their taxes.

  5. Avoid contributing to global warming.

  6. change your detergents http://www.shaklee.net/thehealthyway/pro...

  7. walk anywhere within walking distance and take the bus long distance and dont litter

  8. Get a garbage bag and take a walk around your block picking up trash.

  9. The second best thing you can for our environment is to reduce the amount of fossil/carbon based fuel being dug out of the ground, burnt and released into our air. The Best thing you could do is help another person to understand the second best thing. There's so many people who just don't get it or just don't care. If you can convince one of these people then you have doubled your efforts.

What this planet needs right now is more self righteous hippies!

  10. Change the light bulbs in your house to compact flourescent bulbs.  They last much longer than regular bulbs (up to 7 years), use much less energy, produce much less heat (which makes it easier to cool the house in summer), and the light they produce is easier on the eyes.

Plan your trips.  Walk or bike when you can.  Use public transportation (buses, subways) if its available in your town when possible.  If you drive, make one trip count for several by planning what you have to do and planning your route accordingly.  Also, carpool when possible.

Recycle paper, plastics, metals and glass.  Search the internet for recycling programs for old computers, batteries and printer ink cartridges and make use of these programs instead of throwing these items away.  Reuse items like bags, bottles and jars when possible and buy items with less packaging.  Also, be aware of the percentage of recycled material in the products you buy and buy the ones with the highest percentages.  It should be listed on the labels.

Try to buy items made or grown close to home.  The further the item has to travel to get to you, the more it pollutes the environment.  For example, vegetables grown six states away from you create more carbon emissions from the trucks used to transport them than the vegetables grown in your own state.

Buy organic foods whenever possible.  These foods have been grown without the use of pesticides, herbicides or chemical fertilizers, all of which end up in our water supplies and have a high impact on the environment.  Organic foods are much healthier for you, too.  The more people that buy organic, the lower the prices go as well.

Plant trees.  Find an area in your town that needs cleaning up and pick up the litter and dispose of it properly.  Plant flowers.  If you have space in your yard, create your own compost (you can find how via any search engine).

There's lots of other stuff you can do too.  Do any one of these things on a daily basis and you'll have made a big contribution to solving the problem.  Do more and you'll have a bigger impact.

  11. Hello Superman; There are millions of things you can do every single waking moment of each and every single day without it needing to be Earth Day. Firstly, I must tell you that just being very mindful of the kind thoughts you have towards life, and indeed about your very important role you play in life is one of the finest and most respectful things you can do, and it only requires you to be mindful and very present in the here and now all the time; No time outs for thoughtlessness nor disregard for the exquisite play of life everywhere in every moment. For years we attended on ongoing study of LIFE and the true nature of life, and we were told by one who could channel Nature Spirits that all they wanted from us to help them in their work of making life thrive and flourish was our sincere and mindful thoughts of their realms and the work they do all of the time. Here's the best thing of all: It is something you can do every single day, if even just for five minutes each day, and it costs absolutely nothing! It truly is both the most you can do and the least you can do, if only to honor your life and all of life as well. If you choose to be a bit more proactive by joining in a group clean up of the woods, streams or planting trees, it too is the best thing you can do, as you will be very present in those activities as well as having a nice time doing it.

  12. Pick up trash, plant a tree. Help tell people about globel warming and try to remember that every little thing counts. The earth is our home, keep it clean and heathy for not only us but our children and their children's children.

  13. Die.
