It’s Tricky to upset Royal Delta in Personal Ensign Invitational Handicap at Saratoga
Personal Ensign Invitational Handicap is planned to be held at Saratoga on Sunday, August 26th. The Group 1 meeting, one of the biggest events for fillies and mares, has attracted six fast and furious runners, who will compete for a handsome purse worth $600,000.
It’s Tricky skipped Friday’s Ballerina Stakes in order to make herself available for today’s big event. The 4-year-old has been unbeaten so far this season, as she recently completed her hat-trick at Belmont Park.
The Grade 1 Ogden Phipps Handicap saw her beating Cash For Clunkers by three quarters of a length. She kept tracking the leader until the final furlong, where she edged ahead despite plenty of pressure.
After three consecutive wins, the daughter of Mineshaft is pumped with confidence, and holds an obvious chance of adding another triumph to her tally.
A strong opposition is waiting for It’s Tricky. Royal Delta is a very powerful filly, and will not let anyone go for an easy journey. Confidence is not an issue for William Mott’s charge, who recently bagged a couple of back-to-back triumphs at the graded level.
After being outclassed in the Dubai World Cup, the daughter of Empire Maker took a break of nearly three months to regain her momentum. She returned to action in a great fashion, winning the Grade 2 Fleur De Lis Handicap at Churchill Downs in June.
Another Grade 2 success kissed her feet at DelAWare Park, where she notched the first rank only by a neck’s distance. A couple of fantastic wins are enough to show her ability to perform well under pressure. The punters should keep an eye on her today.
Brushed By A Star’s Grade 2 success at Monmouth Park was a huge surprise. The Grant T. Forster-trained did a fine job to win the Molly Pitcher Stakes last month. Even though she is in good form, we expect her to struggle against the likes of It’s Tricky and Royal Delta.
The clash between It’s Tricky and Royal Delta will be a treat to watch. The latter is making her way back to this class, and will be under some pressure. So, It’s Tricky gets the nod following her recent Group 1 success. Good luck to all the runners.
