Its a common notion that drinking tea makes your complexion darker..is it so n why?

  1. Actually, my skin turns redder when I drink lots of dark tea or coffee. The caffeine is more concentrated or metabolized differently than that found in other substances such as soda. It darkens the skin coz the heart is kinda "racing" or pumping harder, the oxygen is circulating faster.

    And yes, I'd heard of this notion before.


  2. The dark pigment in tea or coffee is not absorbed at all. You do not get dark urine when you drink a lot of tea or coffee. You do not get darker skin either.

  3. As far as I know it doesn't.... People say that black teas have a dark complexion. They are talking about the tea and not skin.... hope that helps.

  4. It can't be too common of a notion, I've never heard of it.....and I'm full of useless information!  Haha, but seriously, I don't think it's true.
