Ponting said in an interview that he had no regrets about quitting captaincy and is enjoying playing as a batsman in the side with fewer responsibilities.
"It's a lot of fun actually not being the captain," said Ponting who is gearing up for his seventh and in all probability his last Test at Hobart's Bellerive Oval, the venue where an 18-year-old Ponting had started his first-class career with http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Tasmania-c854 in

"Actually, it's a lot more relaxing for me just to be an everyday player. Just to turn up and get my batting and fielding work done and go and sit in the changerooms and not have to think about the wicket conditions or picking teams and anything like that. It's
a bit of a load off my plate to be an everyday player again," he added further.
Ponting said that he is working hard on his game and wants to be the best on the Australian roster.
"I just want to be the best member of the team that I can possibly be,” said the Tasmania batsman who has played 157 Tests and 370 One Day Internationals for Australia till date.
"And that's by trying to do the best I can by scoring runs and trying to offer advice and help young guys along the way," he added further.
