Oscar was not willing to split 60-40 with Pacman, offering Manny 70-30. Manny will now fight Soto in November. Who do you want yo see Oscar fight. My self Im glad the fight is not going to happen, now we get a real fight

  1. I think he should fight Andre Berto. He's a young up and comer, a champion, and smaller. All the things that Oscar is looking for in an opponent. Plus this is the test that Berto needs to see if he is ready for the next level of fighter. because Oscar is not the top of the list but he is still a threat to win.

  2. this is a much more intriguing fight and one to really look forward to.

as for oscar, a rubber match with shane mosley would be better than mosley fighting mayorga.

  3. Soto and PacMan is sucha  better fight... though I am sad not to see PacMan attempt two weightclass jumps to fight Oscar for his last bout.

  4. Ouch! Humberto Soto is nowhere near the talent, skills, greatness and profound intellect of Pacquiao, it is going to be a one sided fight and again, Mexican will feel the waterloo.

  5. HUMBERTO SOTO will kill manny pacquiao!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

  6. I still think Paquiao vs De La Hoya is going to happen you can count on it.

Mora-De La hoya is possible but i could care less.

Margarito-De La Hoya will never happen because the mexican fans will root for Margo and De la hoya wont have that.

Trinidad-De la Hoya. Wont happen because of weight.

But if he were to fight someone else i think Miguel Cotto would still make sence because:

its a Puerto Rican vs Mexican Rivalry

Cotto is definently a big name in boxing

For De La Hoya, He has the Height and reach advantage.

For Cotto, He needs to rebound his lose w/ a big name win.

And unlike Paquiao or Trinidad, Cotto doesnt have the reputaion of being a difficult in negotiations.

  7. wow oscar really is greedy wen it comes to money lol!!! I think that Oscar should fight Tito trinidad, it makes more sense. from wut I've heard, Cotto and Margarito will have a rematch in December. I wonder how thats going to go..........so i think thats Oscar's only choice Tito or maybe Sergio Mora. We'll see......

  8. GOOD AS LITTLE PAC MAN WOULD STILL OF MADE 5 TIME OR EVEN 10 TIMES THERE IN WITH OSCAR THAN IN HIS BEST PAID FIGHTS EVEN THE LAST 10 ALL TOGETHER

    ..

I DON'T THINK HE EVEN WANTED TO FIGHT HIM JUST HYPING IT UP AS HE IS TO SMALL AND HE WOULD BE GOING BACK HOME IN A BODY BAG IF HE TOOK IT...AS HE WAS

JUST TRYING TO STAY IN THE SPOT LIGHT NOW HE IS P4P. A LITTLE BUSTER GET HIS NAME OUT A LITTLE BIT MORE .

  9. I just saw the Soto/Pacquiao fight on yahoo's boxing schedule I thought it was old info or a mistake- I'M SO EXCITED ABOUT THIS FIGHT I CAN BARELY CONTAIN MYSELF!....................................

Hats of to Manny for taking this fight because Soto is EXTREMELY DANGEROUS- MANNY COULD LOSE THIS FIGHT!.........................

Soto hits hard and Manny's defense is his GREATEST WEAKNESS!.

I'M TAKIN' SOTO IN A 10TH RD. STOPPAGE OF PACQUIAO!..........

AS FOR OSCAR- I'M ASHAMED TO BE A DE LA FAN!

  10. Finally, a much better fight for pacquiao. Forget the money pacquiao and fight someone your own size.

As for oscar, his target should be margarito, how can that not make alot of money?

  11. a few things:

Winning belts in 5 weight classes does not make one an up and comer.  Also, Oscar De La Hoya is to boxing what Phil Mickelson is to golf... A lot of wins, and finds ways to lose the big ones.

That said- I have not heard this yet, but I think if the Pac - DLH fight does not go off, it will be for reasons other than the purse.

I am with you, it would not have been a real fight.

I'd like to see the Pac-Soto fight and DLH- Margo.

Any DLH - Mosely, Tito, or anybody like that fight would just be two shot fighters milking a payday, and terrible for the sport of boxing.  After Margo demolished Cotto, DLH needs to be a man of his word and only fight the best.  I gaurentee one thing, if DLH fights Margo, you ain't never seen an A-whoopin like this before.

  12. Oscar is the face of boxing and Manny is the up and coming star lb for lb one of the best boxers in the world. MMA has made boxing into a reserve sport. So boxing as a industry needs this fight to keep fans interested in boxing. Without Oscar its like Tiger Woods without golfing who is going to watch?

  13. First, I'm going to comment on that 70-30 offer from De La Hoya's side. I can't believe this @$$hole would only offer a guy who is naturally much smaller and have to run the risk of moving up to welterweight only 30 percent. This is a match that Oscar is suppose to win, due to the natural advantages, yet since he doesn't want 60/40 split, it almost tells me that Oscar feels somewhere that maybe he can't win against Pacquiao, therefore wanting his reward to be well worth the beating.

Now, on to who I think Oscar should fight. I only person I care to see Oscar in the ring with is Antonio Margarito. Margarito is pretty much the man at welterweight now and I don't see any attractions for Oscar at junior middleweight.

Personally, I'm also glad the De La Hoya-Pacquiao match is a no go. I think Oscar should pick on someone his own size and I think Pacquiao has more to prove at lightweight.

  14. as i see this, i´m thinking that Oscar looks much for the money and i know, even oscar has the much to win, anyway, good for PACQUIAO i know he can bet soto again...

  15. Oscar should now set his sights on Antonio Margarito. It's the only fight for him that makes sense. A rematch with Tito really doesn't make sense because Tito was badly beaten in his last fight against Roy Jones and I doubt very much if Tito can go below 160 for a rematch with Oscar, who would surely want the fight at 154. If Oscar really wants to make a statement on his way out of boxing like he says he does, he should fight Margarito. That's the fight that everyone wants to see at the moment so the money would be there for Oscar.

  16. Haha I aint suprise of De La Hoya doesn't he think he has enough!?!

  17. Oscar's a greedy b*****d who is more qualified at promoting than fighting.

Personally I would be happy if he never fights again.....good redance Oscar

  18. The fight will happen. Both sides are playing chicken. Manny is looking at the % only but needs to look at the actual cash. He could make 20-30 mil here, that's more then he will make in the next 5 fights, or 2+ years. This fight will also make Manny a household name and if he wins he could fight Hatten for another mega payday. Manny may be the pound for pound best now, but Oscar is the biggest star in the sport and his celebrity transcends boxing. Whoever has the opportunity to oppose him in his farewell fight is very lucky, this is a once in a lifetime chance.

  19. well i hope this is true but i am not mad at oscar for offering Manny 30percent of 75 million or more.... 30 percent is still more than anything PacMan would of made against anyone else by far...Oscar may seem greedy, but even though Manny has a strong following his name is not the one Carrying the event like Oscars... For instance does anyone think the fight with Pacman Soto is going to get anywhere the amount of Money and PPV buys compared to Delahoya and whoever he fights (he could fight an animated character and still get more PPV buys) ...so to say Oscar is greedy even though 30 percent is far more than money than PacMan can count is alittle harsh.... i think Delahoya realized the public did not to see the slaughtering of Pacman to a much bigger man and i think PaCman realized he was in for a tough night and both are going there seperate ways.... dont really care who delahoya fights next but i already know i wiill watch it
