  1. I can't answer for specific hospitals, but general practice within hospitals is that if they can go for a natural birth, and that is what the mother wants, they will do this by prefernce. If you are due to have anything more than twins then they will insist on a C-Sec as it is unsafe to have a natural delivery in this case.

The only other time they would abort a natural birth (unless the mother doesn't want a natural birth) is if there is a risk to mother or child for a natural birth.

    I hope this helps.

  2. i was born there and my mum had a normal birth and im  due december 20th and im haveing my baby there

  3. They can't operate without your consent.

  4. Basically this is how it works. If the doctors say they want to do a Cesarean and the mother refuses, under the Mental Health Act 1983 they can claim her as incompetent and overrule her decision. Yes sneaky and moving the goal posts. Not all doctors are like that though.

As for doing C sections as they get more money. I think not, take the cost of the anaesthesist, the staff required etc. It costs the hospital more money with a C section. Do not panic, they would only suggest a C section if they baby i sat serious risk which could have been the case fro your friend.
