  1. First off do not scream, that will scare the bird and become even more afraid of you. I had the same problem with my cockatiel even after YEARS and years of training! Although then my bird started to get tamer and not bite. Just try and talk softly to your bird and say "it's ok I won't hurt you". Birds are VERY sensitive so you have to be patient!

  2. I don't know much about birds but like any  animal it needs to feel safe before it can trust you and be your friend just give it some time . And before you know it you will have a loyal companion

  3. No, it's not ok.  You should scream in its face; "DON'T BE AFRAID OF ME!!!"  It should help.  Good luck!

  4. it may last awhile, but ur bird is getting more comfortable even tho he isnt really showing it, check out http://parrotcentral.net/bringing_home_y... for tips for new bird owners    the first few weeks are the hardest but u can soon tame him and he will grow to love you :)

  5. It is ok. Animals that are just adopted need time to get used to people. Thats all

  6. Yes, it can take a long time to tame birds. Just be persistant.

  7. yea the pet needs to take time to get use to the new place and it's scared because it's really new....

    i guess

  8. We breed parrots and conures and socialize and wean the babies to prepare for the new families.

They have to trust you and 7 days is NOT a long time. Be prepared, as some can take months depending on what they have endured. Talk to the bird a lot when you are near him, let him be near you when you are on the computer. Somewhere he can see you. Be loving, patient and calm. You will earn his trust and it will be worth it.
