No attacks have happened in America, but just how big is the threat that carried out 9-11? Same as before? What are the chances of another tragedy like 9-11 happening in this country? Or would it be worse?

  1. Depends on who becomes president. the threat is real and Bush knows that McCain knows that but I am not sure any Democrat knows it . I am being serious. They just don`t seem to get it.

  2. How is the average citizen supposed to know how big a threat a foreign nation poses upon us? All the average Joe has to go on are legitimate news reports and the "fake" news like the Daily Show. While the "legitimate" news reports are most often misinformed themselves and biased and the shows like the Daily Show are more focused on turning a laugh than telling the truth, how are we supposed to form a solid opinion about anything that doesn't involve American Idol or the local sports drama?

I suppose you can ask people's opinion about how threatened they FEEL. Personally, I don't feel very threatened. The kind of thing that happened on 9/11 happens EVERY DAY in other parts of the world. Even with our tightened security, that kind of thing could easily happen again in a variety of places around the US. But it hasn't. I think the chances are pretty low that it did and, IF it did happen again, it would mark the beginning of a full scale invasion, not just an isolated attack.

  3. It is likely that the Patriot Act I and II have set the stage for George Bush's third term as president. You see, all we need is a crisis, and there will be no elections until the crisis is under control. Once the president has declared a state of emergency, he will be in power until he decides to step down.

  4. As America makes more and more enemies while ignorantly ignoring them and saying they are 'jealous', the threat of another horrifying tragedy like 9/11 occurring fluctuates. If you watched the opening ceremony of the Beijing 2008 Olympic Games, then you would have noticed that America got a lot of booing from the crowd, especially when President Bush stood up. Iraq, on the other hand, got a hearty cheer.

In other words, it is only a matter of time before another large scale act of terrorism occurs. America has to not only become more humble, but stop interfering in other countries (unless it truly is to help them, because taking over a country to steal its oil is not 'helping' it).

While tightening airport security certainly was a good first step, the problem is that no-one can predict how, when or where terrorism will be conducted. Terrorists are humans, just like you and me, and as humans, they are unpredictable.

All I can say is, I really hope something doesn't happen, but deep down after looking at all the facts I'm pretty sure it will.

  5. wow cannot believe its been so long since that tradgedy.

sometimes i have fear something worse will happen

to be honest no one knows! but the good thing is our security has been tighened so much especially at airport and airplain security. which makes everyone feel a little bit better.

no one knows but we just always have to be prepared and be thankful for our loved ones

    goodnight

    :)
