"It needed to happen," Swann said. "Everyone was wondering how it would go and whether it would be as easy as it has been, but a lot of credit has to be given to Kevin for the way he has come in. It's just business as usual and the dressing room is a very happy place this week."
Pietersen made his first appearance for the national team earlier in the weak after patching up his relationship with the ECB, which had stalled since the second Test against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/South-Africa-c757 at Headingley in early August.
After declaring his intentions to leave the limited-overs formats in mid this year, KP criticized the ECB for not treating him fairly. He then fell out with some of his teammates during the South Africa series and was consequently dropped from the third Test at Lord’s after it was revealed that he had sent provocative messages to some of his friends in the Proteas camp.
He publically apologized via a YouTube video, and further stated his desire to represent the country across all formats of the game. After considerable dialogues between the two parties, a reintegration process was established where KP was brought back into the side.
His behaviour would be closely observed by team director and Head Coach, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Andrew-Flower-c44362, and further measures will be taken in order to ensure harmony prevails in the dressing room. While many believed that such a process would take time, England's national team players have all expressed their satisfaction on having KP back in the setup.
Cook had already given his take on the saga, while the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/TT-Bresnan-c2711 have also welcomed the player, with the latter describing his presence as a positive for the team. Swann also added that all is well in the camp.
"In the changing room, no one is safe," Swann said. "KP's the butt of as many jokes as anyone else. He takes it fine, so it's great."
