‘It’s important for me to get my bowling right against India’, says http://www.senore.com/Cricket/RS-Bopara-c2373 – Cricket News Update
England’s all-rounder, Ravi Bopara, who top-scored the team’s line-up with a solid 73 during the tourists’ warm-up match against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Hyderabad-c792 XI, now aims to get his bowling right as England gears up to face the Men in Blue in the opening One Day International
(ODI) match, set to kick off on October 14, 2011, in Hyderabad.
During England’s recent 2-match Twenty20 (T20) series against the http://www.senore.com/Cricket/West-Indies-c760, Bopara managed to earn the team’s best ever T20 bowling figures, through an imposing haul of 4 wickets.
However, for http://www.senore.com/Cricket/AN-Cook-c1026, as a tough challenge
for his side.
“I think it's important for me to get my bowling right on this tour. At some stage my bowling is going to be called upon and I'm going to have to do a good job because, as we know, this Indian side have a very, very good batting line-up; they are playing
in their own conditions too,” said Bopara.
However, Bopara also comprehended that it will be tough for the English batsmen to adapt to the Indian pitches, which will surely come with a different setting compared to those in England.
Evidence to the player’s statement was seen on the recent warm-up match, where the English suffered a swift crumble to their top order, losing 4 quick wickets in the first 15 overs; soon after which Bopara and uncapped Chris Woakes took over the pitch and
led the side to pile up 219 against Hyderabad XI.
“It was a little bit of a difficult pitch, especially up front. With the new ball, it was quite tough. But once the ball got older, it got better. It was one of those where we thought we should be scoring a lot quicker, but in reality I thought 240 would
have been a good score, and as it proved 220 was a good score,” explained the all-rounder.
Having suffered a clean sweep at the hands of the English hosts, http://www.senore.com/Cricket/India-c750 will now be aiming to stand strong against the Poms on their own backyard as both the sides gear up to face each other in the opening ODI match, set to kick off on October 14, 2011, at
the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, Uppal, Hyderabad.
