  1. My 14 year old niece and her younger brother travel to Texas from Michigan twice each year to visit their mom.  Let the airline people know that he is on the plane and they will keep and eye on him when he gets up to go use the rest room etc.  He should be okay.

  2. as long you know that their will an adult to get him and the air line knows about it and someone from the airline makes sure he is released to the right  adult will be good

  3. No way. Did you ever hear of kidnappers, perverts, weirdos.  You are letting your kid, probably a girl, go to a friend?? What if he/she gets there and no one meets him/her? Are you ready to drive out there?

  4. Sure, I've been traveling by myself ever since I was really young. If he's mature enough to handle it, let him go for it!

  5. Yes. Just let the Airline know. I sent my little bro by himself and there where people around to make sure he got where he needed to go. esp was nice since he had to change flights.

  6. It depends on if you think the boy is responsible enough, and on how well you know the friend and parents.

  7. The major airlines have a service whereby they accept unaccompanied minors (they call them UMs).  They monitor their whereabouts constantly and will only release custody of the UM to a person designated by whoever bought the ticket. The person who meets the UM must prove their identification to the airline personnel. I assure you that it is quite safe. I have been impressed in the past by the care that the airlines take of the UMs.

I hope this allays your fears. I am a Deputy Sheriff working airport security in Louisiana.

  8. I have done  this myself when I was young.  The airlines will take extra care with him and watch over him.  Once he gets to LA then that's his friends parents responsibility.

I wouldn't worry about getting him there, just make sure the airlines know he is coming and they'll do the rest.

  9. Sure but get him a state ID and make sure they know he's comin so someone can be their when he gets off.

My kids use to fly by themselfs alot..

  10. No, he will be butt-rapped by a big blue gum!
