On my front porch I sometimes find insect body parts all over and today i found a yellow jacket in three pieces. What is shredding these little guys apart? also I am finding little beetles dead in my garage. I just moved in and I sprayed like two weeks ago with walmart brand bug spray and a new dead bug is found every day. Is it the bug spray and how does it still work after weeks gone by??

  1. The insecticides used today are not a fast kill like they were in the 1950's. It often times take a while to kill the insect. This process (known as transference) was designed  because it allows time for that insect to come into contact with other insects and contaminate those insects. That way not all insects have to have direct contact with the insecticide. This would explain the dead beetles.

Now, as far as the yellow jacket, my best guess is that it was a cat (as suggested by another reader). It might also have been done by another insect. Spiders will often leave behind pieces of insects that they have eaten on. I hope this helps explain your dead bug question.

  2. its probably a cat or something either that or that spray attracts bugs and then blows em up but i doubt it go with the cat
