I have replaced my radiator 3 times, and this is going to be the 4th time, my car is a 1999 ford mustang gt with a 5 speed tranny, I have replaced the thermostat every time I have replace the radiator. I have a good guaranty on the radiator that's why I keep changing them, but I figured out that it only lasts for 6 months. Any suggestions or something help full will be appreciated

  1. Why do you keep replacing the radiator?  Are they leaking or is it because of some other problem that you are blaming on the radiator.  If they have all leaked I would suggest a different brand.

  2. whats happening? is it leaking? is it overheating, getting plugged? you may need to get the block flushed and the rest of the cooling system checked, you can even have a blown head gasket in combo with a stuck cap causing over pressure in the cooling sys. rare but ive seen it more than once. it maybe time to take it to a pro. are you using coolant or just water, i know thats old school but some old timers still insist on straight water, that can cause overheating too.

  3. Sounds like the heater core is bad. After the second radiator, you should have checked the heater core, if it is bad, going bad or not working properly that will cause you radiator to go bad.

  4. Radiator Press cap too High drop to a 12 # cap;You are getting Leaks ,is that the reason you are replacing Raiators; Too much Press;

  5. maybe you should flush out the whole cooling system first.

  6. what is the problem with the radiator? if the car has an issue with running too hot, then the radiator is not the problem , the fan could be the source. it might be time to take it back to a shop to get the problem looked at.

  7. Is the radiator mounted on isolation mountings? Are they worn out and allowing the radiator to short out on the body, causing failure due to vibration.

    Failing that, buy Toyota.

  8. It sounds like you are buying rebuilt radiators. If that's the case, the company rebuilding them is not doing it right. Radiators should last for many years if you use the right coolant mixture.  I had the same headache with both my alternator and brake booster. They would replace the part with another faulty (rebuilt) part.

    Get a factory new radiator if you haven't already and it might cure this problem.

  9. Is this an after market Radiator? If so it just may not be built with good materials. I would put in a motorcraft from ford...Some of the after market parts are junk..
