Its their another way to change desktop background color?

I been trying to change the background of my desktop but everytime I restart it goes back to its original color. I right click go to properties, desktop and then chose my color hit apply then ok. After a restart it wont retain the chosen color. What chould I do?

  1. Try setting a picture as the background. See link below.

    Right click on that picture, click set as background, then go into desktop properties and adjust so the picture is either CENTER or STRETCHED click apply and ok.

    See what happens the next time you do a resstart.

    But you must know that you don't need to restart your computer every day. I have had mine on for a year and a half and only reboot it when the system tells me "I must now do a reboot for the new software to take effect".

    Believe it or not, A computer is meant to be left on all the time but you can go into Power setting in control panel and set it go into standby after say, two hours of none use, you can also set the monitor to turn off say, after 45 minutes of none use and go into screen saver after say 10-15 minutes of none use. Those are the exact setting I use.

    That, by the way is a great picture to set as a backgound every day. LOL

  2. do you have a picture that covers your whole background if so then take it out and try that i hope this helps you

    take or ask a friend to take you a picture of a coloured item.

    load the picture into your PC.

    click on open .

    then click on the picture it will give you the option to use as desk top

    hope this helps.

    i wanted a solid black desk top so took picture with lens cap on .if you want black and camera is not an S.L.R,put a piece of card over lens
