Kolkata Knight Riders skipper Gautam Gambhir has asked his side to play "fearless cricket," in the just to begin season six of the lucrative Indian Premier League, commencing at the Eden Gardens on Wednesday, April 3, 2013. In the latest edition of the lucrative league the Knight Riders will be without the likes of http://www.senore.com/Cricket/BB-McCullum-c1129, who has been ruled out due to a hamstring injury. Gambhir said that there was a lot of quality in the dressing room and McCullum’s absence would not be felt as such.
Gambhir has been struggling with his form of late and was dropped from the national side for the first two Tests against http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Australia-c746 last month, before missing out on the next two Tests due to bad health. But Gambhir said that he was not taking IPL as a platform to force a comeback into the national side, insisting that his focus was on performing for his franchise only.
"I don't play for individuals but for a team called KKR," said Gambhir, a veteran of 54 Tests and 147 One Day Internationals. "I am a part of the team which is the defending champion. I don't see IPL as my comeback platform," added the KKR skipper.
Meanwhile, Daredevils’ team mentor TA Sekar has expressed satisfaction over his team’s preparation for the esteemed tournament. He was particularly happy with the performances that http://www.senore.com/Cricket/Irfan-c64444 also got his fitness back.
"I think bowlers today are very intelligent and they know how to keep themselves fit," Sekar said, adding that Brendon McCullum's absence had levelled the playing field between KKR and Daredevils.
