Its two in a row for Katerina Nash as she wins the Nash takes second win on birthday weekend in USGP Oregon
Katerina Nash treated herself with a terrific victory on her 34th birthday in USGP Oregon after another one of her flawless performances.
She overcame her teammate Georgia Gould with a lead of 13 seconds earlier on Saturday occupying the top podium position.
It was a different day and Gould was thinking to switch podium places with Nash, but all her dreams were shattered as Nash stood taller of the American for the second consecutive day and the order of the podium remains exactly the same.
She completed the race in a total time of 46 minutes and 19 seconds putting 24 seconds on Georgian Gould.
Caroline Mani finished 49 seconds behind the race leader and achieved the third spot while Jade Wilcoxson, Amanda Mille ran Elle Anderson secured the fourth, fifth and the sixth positions respectively.
"We both kind of a had a bad start," Nash said of herself and Gould. "But I came around on the straightaway on the back side of the course. I just wanted to get into the technical stuff in first place".
"She got around that group at the perfect time. And I just didn't have time to go with her before all the technical stuff. It was like someone bobbled on every little hill,” Gould said.
“And then by the time I got through the traffic it was just too big to close down. It's disappointing, but I did the best I could".
Elle Anderson, Julie Krasniak, Mical Dyck, Kaitlin Antonneau and Crystal Anthony achieved the next five positions respectively.
Georgia Gould still leads the USGP series Elite Women standings with a total number of 308 points.
Katherine Compton is dropped down to the second position with a deficit of 8 points, while Julie Krasniak of Team Rapha-FOCUS is at the third position with 196 points to her credit.
Katerina Nash (180 points), Kaitlin Antonneau (158 points), Teal Stetson-Lee (151 points), Caroline Mani (142 points), Pepper Harlton (137 points), Mical Dyck (109 points) and Jade Wilcoxson (88 points) claimed the next seven positions respectively.
It will be interesting to see Katherine Compton manages to cut down the difference on claim the position as she is not far behind Gould.
